TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

Leviton Spec-Grade™ Sound System Matching Module

Leviton Spec-Grade™ Sound System Matching Module

Leviton SGAMP Spec-Grade™ Sound System Matching Module

SGAMP - One of the most challenging aspects of multi-room system design is the matching of speakers, zones and volume controls to the amplifier. Past solutions employed power-hungry, impedance-matched volume controls (which needed to be individually calculated and set) or an expensive impedance-matching system interface added to the component "stack".

Spec-Grade Sound systems take a much more contractor-friendly approach. All impedance matching can be accomplished at the central wiring point where speak and control wiring converge to interface with the amplifier (either inside a structured cabling enclosure or at a designated wallplate locations).

The Spec-Grade Sound System Matching Module is a solution that saves time and money, as well as one that provides another layer of AutoSurge circuit protection to ensure total system reliability. The module is engineering for high power handling and long-term reliability with a design based on the same thermo-rated Cermetile audio-grade resistors used in Leviton's Decora® Strauss Volume Controls.

Features

  • Mounts in Leviton Structured Media Centers.
  • Connects 6 rooms/zones.
  • AutoSurge circuit technology protects speakers from potentially damaging transients.
  • Transformer-Free impedance-matching design ensures linear frequency response, signal integrity and high power handling capacity.
  • Aerospace-grade Cermetile resistors replace conventional autoformers to maintain audio signal purity.
  • Independent channel grounds assure safe connection for all conventional audio amplifiers.
  • Detachable cable connectors are compatible with all standard speaker wire sizes (14-18 gauge)
  • Frequency response: 10Hz-40kHz, +/- .5dB
  • Power handling: 150W RMS per channel/225W peak
  • Dimensions: 5.38"L (136.5 mm) x 6.38" W (161.9 mm) x 2.57" D (68.6 mm)
