TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

Leviton VRCZ4-MR Vizia RF + 4-Button Zone Controller with Switch for Multi-Location Control with IR Remote Capability

Leviton VRCZ4-MR Vizia RF + 4-Button Zone Controller with Switch for Multi-Location Control with IR Remote Capability

The Vizia RF + 4-Button Zone Controller with Switch (VRCZ4-MR) and IR Remote Capability is ideal for remote control of up to four different zones1 (areas) of Vizia RF + scene-capable devices as well as ON/OFF function of a single pole application. The Controller uses Z-Wave® protocol transmissions to control other Leviton Vizia RF + Z-Wave enabled devices as well as Z-Wave compliant devices from other manufacturers. The top four buttons on the controller provide ON/OFF switching of four zones/areas while one button provides ON/OFF function of a single pole application. The bottom button transmits DIM/BRIGHT commands to the most recently switched-ON zone (area). An optional IR Handheld Remote Controller (VRMR1-0SG) can be used to activate the Vizia RF + 4-Button Zone Controller's ON/OFF/DIM/BRIGHT commands.

(1)-A zone is one controlled load or loads: An area is multiple zones. For example, a series of porch lights controlled by a single Leviton Vizia RF + device is a zone. An area could be the porch and/or any additional zones, such as landscape lights.
