TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

HXP15-1TW - The Decora Home Controls (DHC) Plug-in Appliance Receiver Module is ideal for any residential setting where ON/OFF switching of appliances, motors up to 1/2 HP, or free-standing lights, including incandescent, magnetic low-voltage, fluorescent and compact fluorescent loads is needed. Typical applications include switching of coffee/espresso makers, toasters and toaster ovens, stereos, TV’s, VCRs, fans and dehumidifiers. The HCP15-1TW Module also allows users to remotely turn ON/OFF free-standing lamps and incorporate them into scene lighting control applications.

Note: Unit is NOT RECOMMENDED for use with hotplates, heaters, and other unattended heating devices.

NOTE: A Cat. No. HCA02-10E DHC System Amplifier Module must be installed in every DHC installation to ensure maximum signal strength. In some installations more than one may be required.
