TIA568 Wiring Standards
How to decide which wiring pattern to use:
1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.
If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

Now In: Leviton → Leviton DHC → Leviton HCA02-10E DHC System Amplifier/Repeater/Coupler Module With Test Signal Generator
|
HCA02-10E - Leviton's new DHC module performs a variety
of functions to ensure outstanding DHC system performance and reliability.
The module couples transmitter (programmer and controller) signals
generated on the 120V leg where the transmitter draws power onto the other
leg in a 120/240V residential wiring system. The module also amplifies and
repeats command signals to maintain proper signal strength throughout the
DHC network. Leviton's exclusive Intellisense™ (gated automatic gain
control) feature helps ensure top performance even when noise is present
on the AC powerline. The module provides convenient ON/OFF test signal
transmission capability. This allows for easy signal strength verification
at individual module locations with Leviton's Cat. No. 6386 Signal
Strength Indicator.
The HCA02-10E cannot be used in a 3-phase system.
Features and Benefits:
- Couples and amplifies DHC signals between 120V legs of single-phase
residential wiring systems
- Includes test signal generation function for testing command signal
strength at individual module locations
- Equipped with Intellisense (gated automatic gain control) for
outstanding performance and reliability
- Green pilot light indicates when DHC signal is transmitting
- Connects to a 15A double-pole breaker or two 15A S.P. breakers
equipped with handle tie to attach two 120V legs in main panel box
- Backed by Limited Two-Year Warranty
