TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

The Intelix S-V16AR receives composite video up to 4,000 feet over standards twisted pair cabling, such as Cat 5 and Cat 6. When used in conjunction with compatible passive Intelix baluns, the S-V16AR effectively extends cabling distances and replaces traditional bulky video cable. A rack-mounted card frame system, the S-V16AR supports up to 16 active input modules (sold separately), thereby allowing custom configurations depending on the application requirements. Each channel features dual buffered BNC outputs, built-in surge suppression, ground loop isolation, gain and loss control, diagnostic video detection, and automatic video adjustment. The S-V16AR is ideal for security and monitoring applications with such equipment as CCTV cameras, monitors, DVRs, video sequencers, video multiplexers, quads, switchers, and servers.
