TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

The Leviton line of Wireless Occupancy Sensors (WSCxx-I0W) work inconjunction with the Wireless Wall Switch Receiver (WSS10-xDx) and theWirelessSelf-Powered Remote Switch (WSS0S-P0x). These wireless products combineLeviton’s occupancy sensing technology with self-powered and wirelesstechnologies, developed and licensed from EnOcean®.

The Wireless Occupancy Sensors have a built-in solar cell that drawsonavailable room light to power itself and can operate for up to 48 hourswithoutthe need for batteries or external power in standard manual-ON/Auto-OFFmode.Batteries are required for continuous uninterrupted Auto-ON operation.

The sensors use a small detector located directly behind a uniquemulti-zoneoptical lens. This exclusive Fresnel lens establishes dozens of zonesofdetection, which can be configured (manual masking) to block outunwantedtraffic zones (i.e. outside hallway traffic). The sensors respond toany sourceof heat within the range of detection, including the heat emitted bythe humanbody, however, the sensor is only triggered when the source of heatmoves fromone zone of sensing to another. Stationary heat sources will nottrigger thesensor.
