TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

Additional Product Information

The Signal Strength Meter is a mobile tool for measuring andindicating the received field strength (RSSI) of EnOcean telegrams anddisturbing radio activity at 315 MHz. It supports electrical installersduringthe planning and troubleshooting phase and enables them to verifywhether theinstallation of LevNet RF Transmitters and Receivers is possible at thepositions planned. This device is a must have for anyone regularlyinstallingLevNet RF wireless controls.

Since radio signals are electromagnetic waves, their intensitydecreases asthey travel away from the source. Obstructions attenuate radio signals.Thistool allows installers to determine the best installation locationsbeforeequipment is installed. Distance, transmission angle, and obstructionsallaffect radio signal quality. For best performance, transmit signalsdirectlythrough walls and do not use LevNet RF controls around metal.

Features

  • Simple range planning: detects valid radio packets and display received signal strength; measures strength of interference; verifies network plan by testing wireless coverage through a building prior to installation of equipment
