TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

TVOne 1T-DVI-721 2 to 1 DVI Switcher w/HDCP

Video/Audio Routing Switchers

Routing Switchers are also called Signal Selectors, AV Selectors or just Routers. A standard Routing Switcher can have multiple video and audio signals from a number of sources, such as VCR's, Video Game Consoles, DVD Players, etc, connected to its inputs. Its output or outputs can go to one or more destinations, such as VCR's or TV Sets. You can select which input goes to the output(s) with the push of a button, without moving audio and video cables around. A Matrix Router has the added flexibility of being able to route any one of the input signals to any one of the multiple outputs or to all the destination devices. Mechanical Passive Selectors just provide signal selection without any amplification or processing, since they require no power supply.

TV One-Task 1T-DVI-721 and 1T-DVI-741 DVI Switchers are compact, high performance products designed to meet the most demanding requirements for the switching of DVI signals with HDCP copy protection. A maximum pixel rate of 165 MHz providing resolution capabilities up to 1920x1200@60Hz is available when using professional grade cables such as our Z-Plus brand. The 1T-DVI-721 provides two (2) inputs and the 1T-DVI-741 provides four (4) inputs plus both units can be controlled via either a front panel input selection button or an infrared remote control. Should a conflict exist with other IR remote controls in the operational environment, the included IR remote controller can be easily reprogrammed to avoid the problem. The units have DVI-I connectors for the input and outputs and are powered via an included AC power adapter that provides 9 VDC for operation. LED displays indicate the current input selection and the presence of DC Power. An IR Remote Receiver Option is available for applications requiring the unit to be hidden from view.
