TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

DVI and HDMI Digital Video formats are popular in today’s Home Theater systems. Repeaters extend the output range of digital signals enabling longer cable runs between the source and the display. Distribution Amplifiers or Splitters provide multiple outputs from a single input. Switchers allow multiple source devices to be selected and routed to a single display. Format Converters change one signal type to another, such as from Analog to DVI, without changing the resolution. Scalers convert one signal type to another and can also change the resolution.

AVT-6041 HDMI Version 1.3 Routing Switcher provides a way to switch between HDMI signals, with or without HDCP copy protection. The AVT-6041 allows the switching of four inputs. It maintain all signal components present within the encoded signal and allow the user to easily select program material without plugging and unplugging cables. The switcher can be controlled via front panel switches or the optional Infrared remote control. This version 1.3 HDMI device supports all standard High Definition Television formats, PC formats from 640x480 through 1920x1200 as well as embedded HD-Audio, including Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD. This is but one of our complete range of video and audio products. A built-in Signal Enhancer provides for long distance cable runs and may be turned off via a front panel switch when not required.
