TIA568 Wiring Standards

How to decide which wiring pattern to use:

1. Does the job specification call out a wiring pattern?
2. Does the customer/end user have a preference for T568A or T568B?
3. Have patch panels already been purchased for the job? If so, they will probably be either T568A or T568B. The jacks should be wired to the same pattern as the panels.
4. Are you adding on to an existing wiring plant? If so, your new wiring should match the existing wiring.

If none of the factors above apply, either T568A or T568B may be used. It is important to ensure that the workstation connectors and the patch panels are wired to the same pattern. T568B is commonly used in commercial installations, while T568A is prevalent in residential installations.

DVI and HDMI Products

DVI and HDMI Digital Video formats are popular in today’s Home Theater systems. Repeaters extend the output range of digital signals enabling longer cable runs between the source and the display. Distribution Amplifiers or Splitters provide multiple outputs from a single input. Switchers allow multiple source devices to be selected and routed to a single display. Format Converters change one signal type to another, such as from Analog to DVI, without changing the resolution. Scalers convert one signal type to another and can also change the resolution.

TV One-Task™ DVI/VGA Converters/Scalers are ultra compact, high performance products designed to meet the most demanding requirements for signal conversion. Model 1T-VGA-DVI converts Analog to DVI, while the 1T-DVI-VGA converts DVI to Analog. A wide variety of PC and HDTV I/O resolutions are supported. The input resolution is automatically detected and can either be RGBHV or YPbPr format. The 1T-VGA-DVI can also accept a YCbCR 480i YCbCr signal, from a DVD Player for example, and convert it to DVI at PC or HDTV resolutions. The output resolution and refresh rate is selected via push buttons and OSD Menu The integral processor provides control over many signal parameters, such as: Contrast, Brightness, Color Saturation, R-G-B Levels and H-V Positioning. Both models are 5VDC powered and a small In-Plug Power Adapter is included. For best performance, use high-grade output cables.
